form of exercise is Pilates and it's taking the world by storm.
Developed by
Joseph H. Pilates in the 1920s, Pilates (pronounced Pi-lah-tees)
improves posture and strengthens muscles with a low-impact, non-stress
approach to fitness.
Widely used
by dancers, Olympic and professional athletes, sports teams and
actors, Pilates is becoming more commonly used by individuals of
varying ages and ability.
It can benefit
individuals ranging from triathletes to ballet dancers, from new
mothers to those who suffer from lower back discomfort.
Instructor Kylie
Dean was trained through the Pilates Institute of Australasia (PIA),
with extensive experience in gymnastics, competitive aerobics and
bodyshaping.
The first disc
is an Interactive Instructional CDrom to be used in any desktop
computer, which shows step-by-step how to complete the exercises,
illustrated with time-lapse photography, written analysis of each
exercise and complete audio track to explain each movement. Also
included on the CDrom is a comprehensive question and answer section.
The other is
a traditional audio CD where Kylie takes the student through two
complete workouts (about 45 minutes each) using the exercises learned
from the instructional CDrom.
It can be used in any ordinary CD player so you can workout in the
comfort of your home or in your favourite relaxing spot such as
at the beach or in the park. You could even learn during your lunch
hour or at your desk at work.
